Mission: Send out a thank-you email when a lead fills out a form

Step 1: Create an Email

Go to the Marketing Activities area.
Select My Program in the left menu and then New and New Local Asset.
Click Email.
Name your email "Auto Response," choose the Curved Paper template, and click Create.

You should have the Curved Paper template, but if you don't see it just pick another and keep on.

An email editor will open in a new window or tab.

Double-click the subject field and enter a subject, then double click the body of the email.

A rich text editor will open on top of the email editor.

Highlight the existing email content.
Type your email content
Click  Copy from HTML  in the Text section and click  SAVE .

 

 Click Copy from HTML to copy the HTML email content on the left to the plain text email content on the right.  Images, links, and formatting are removed.

 

Your changes are auto-saved, close the email editor tab/window.
Select your new email, under Email Actions click Approve.

Step 2: Create a Smart Campaign

Right-click My Program and click New Smart Campaign.
Name your the smart campaign "Auto Response Campaign" and click CREATE.
Go to the Smart List tab.

We're setting up this campaign to run whenever a lead fills out the form you created in  Landing Page with a Form .

Find and drag the Fills Out Form trigger to the left canvas.
Select My Form and go to the Flow tab.
Drag the Send Email flow action to the left canvas.
Select your Auto Response Email and go to the Schedule tab.
Click EDIT.
Click  every time and  SAVE .
Click Activate.
Click ACTIVATE on the confirmation screen.

Once active, this campaign will run every time a lead fills out the specified form. The campaign will keep running until it's deactivated.

Step 3: Fill Out the Form

Select My Page. This was created in the Landing Page with a Form quick win.
Click VIEW APPROVED PAGE.

Your "Free Trial" landing page will open in a new tab.

Fill out the form with your first name, last name, and email address, then click Submit.

Make sure you use your actual email address so you can get the email.

Mission Complete

Within just a few minutes you should see the auto response email in your inbox. Great job!
